Internship, Software Engineer, Vehicle Software (Summer 2026)

Tesla is hiring a Software Engineer Intern on the Vehicle Software team for Summer 2026. You'll work on the software that runs inside every Tesla vehicle - the infotainment system, connectivity services, over-the-air update infrastructure, and driver experience features. Responsibilities: write production C++ and Rust code for the in-car Linux stack; develop UI components; implement backend services powering the mobile app and vehicle telematics; collaborate with hardware and firmware teams. Requirements: pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field; graduation between December 2026 and August 2027; strong C++ and/or Rust skills; experience with Linux and embedded systems a plus; passion for automotive software. Minimum 12 weeks, full-time on-site in Palo Alto.
