Basketball Analytics Summer Intern

The Los Angeles Lakers are seeking a Summer Intern to support the Basketball Analytics team. This is a paid hourly position that will support analytics projects focused on player evaluation, player development, game strategy, advance scouting, and opponent analysis. Responsibilities include building and maintaining data pipelines, running statistical analyses on tracking and play-by-play data, producing visualizations and reports for the basketball operations staff, and contributing to internal research projects that inform roster and coaching decisions. Qualifications include current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program with coursework in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field; experience with Python, R, and SQL; and strong knowledge of basketball and familiarity with public basketball analytics research. The position is based in El Segundo, CA and is full-time for the summer of 2026.
