Gameplay Design Intern

Epic Games is hiring a Gameplay Design Intern to join the Fortnite Battle Royale team for the 2026 internship season. As a Gameplay Design Intern, you will partner with senior designers to prototype, iterate, and ship gameplay features used by millions of players globally. Responsibilities include building prototypes in Unreal Engine, collaborating with engineering and art to bring ideas to life, playtesting and iterating on new mechanics, and contributing to design documentation. Qualifications include current enrollment in a college, university, or equivalent program; strong understanding of game design principles; experience designing, building, and shipping a game prototype via coursework, game jams, or personal projects; familiarity with Unreal Engine or another commercial game engine; and strong written and verbal communication.
