CNN AI Innovation Intern: NYC - Summer 2026

CNN is hiring an AI Innovation Intern in New York, NY for Summer 2026. The intern will work with CNN's AI Innovation team exploring how generative AI and machine learning can support newsgathering, editorial workflows, audience experiences, and production tools. Responsibilities include prototyping AI-powered editorial tools, researching and evaluating new AI products and models, drafting internal guidance on responsible use of AI in news, and partnering with editors, producers, and engineers across CNN. Qualifications include current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in computer science, data science, journalism, communications, or related field; familiarity with large language models and prompt engineering; strong writing and research skills; and a deep interest in news and media. This is a paid 10-week summer internship based in NYC.
