PayPal is hiring Back-End Software Engineer Interns for Summer 2026, starting June 1-30, 2026. The US/Canada Summer Internship runs 12 weeks from May to September. As a backend intern you'll develop scalable backend services powering PayPal, Venmo, Braintree, and Xoom — processing tens of billions of dollars of payments annually. You'll collaborate across teams on services in Java, Python, Go, or Node.js, ship production features, and participate in code reviews. Qualifications: Must be returning to school in Fall 2026; must reside in the US during the internship with authorization to work; proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#, Ruby, Go, or similar; strong DS&A. Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 remote. Hourly pay range $26-$55 national.
