Amtrak Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

Amtrak is hiring Engineering Interns for Summer 2026 across Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Signals, and Track Engineering tracks. Interns are placed in Washington DC, Philadelphia, or at an Amtrak facility along the Northeast Corridor and contribute to real projects - including locomotive reliability analysis, track and catenary design, signals modernization, or stations capital planning. Deliverables include a technical capstone presented to Chief Engineering. 10-week paid program with mentorship, technical training, and site visits (e.g., Bear Maintenance Facility and the NEC). Qualifications: currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Systems Engineering; graduation December 2026 - August 2028; 3.0+ GPA; U.S. work authorization. Onsite with some hybrid flexibility.
