Figure's Controls team is hiring a Summer 2026 intern in Sunnyvale, CA to develop advanced whole-body control for the Figure 02 humanoid robot. You will contribute to MPC, whole-body control formulations, balance and recovery behaviors, and the integration of learned policies with model-based controllers. Expect to write real-time C++ that runs on the robot, run experiments, tune controllers, and debug on hardware. Qualifications: pursuing an MS/PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or CS with focus on dynamics and control; experience with legged robot control (bipeds or quadrupeds); fluent in C++ and Python; familiarity with Drake, Pinocchio, or MuJoCo.
