The US Geological Survey's Water Mission Area is hiring Summer 2026 Pathways interns to support hydrologists monitoring streamflow, groundwater, and water quality. Duties include collecting field measurements at stream gages, processing data in the USGS National Water Information System, running low-flow statistical analyses in R, and assisting with Next Generation Water Observing System pilot projects. Paid at GS-4/5. Based at regional USGS science centers (Reston VA, Menlo Park CA, Denver CO, among others). U.S. citizenship required. Coursework in hydrology, civil or environmental engineering, geoscience, or environmental science preferred.
