The Chicago Cubs are hiring a Research & Development Intern within Baseball Operations at Wrigley Field. The R&D Intern will work closely with the quantitative analysts on the Baseball Sciences team, contributing to projects that range from pitch modeling, batted-ball evaluation, and catcher framing to biomechanics and injury risk. Day-to-day work involves cleaning and transforming large sports datasets, prototyping models in Python, writing SQL queries against the team's proprietary database, and presenting findings to the director of R&D and senior analysts. Strong candidates will be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program with coursework in statistics, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field, and will have prior experience applying machine learning to real-world data. The internship runs from June through August 2026 and is paid at $22 per hour.
