Software Engineer Intern, Summer 2026

Gusto is hiring Software Engineer Interns for Summer 2026 in San Francisco, Denver, and New York. Gusto provides payroll, benefits, and HR to 400,000+ small businesses, and interns contribute real code to products used every day by entrepreneurs. You'll ship features in Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript, pair with senior engineers, and participate in design reviews. Project areas include payroll processing, tax filing, benefits enrollment, and the Gusto Embedded platform. The 12-week paid program includes a tech talk series, mentorship from an engineering mentor and manager, affinity groups, and team offsites. Qualifications: pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in CS or related; strong understanding of data structures and algorithms; experience building real projects; previous internship helpful but not required.
