Data Center Operations Intern, Summer 2026

Equinix is the world's digital infrastructure company, operating 260+ International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers across 33 countries. The Data Center Operations Intern will be embedded with our Ashburn IBX team and gain hands-on exposure to critical facilities operations, including power, cooling, and customer install activities. Responsibilities include shadowing data center technicians during preventative maintenance, assisting with smart-hands work orders, documenting cross-connect builds, participating in incident response simulations, and completing a capstone project focused on operational efficiency. Qualifications: pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline; available 10-12 weeks May-August 2026; strong documentation skills; ability to lift 40 lbs and work in data center environments. This role is fully onsite at our Ashburn, VA campus.
