Machine Learning Engineer Intern - Dash Cam AI, Summer 2026

Samsara is hiring an ML Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 on our Video-Based Safety team. You will help develop computer vision models running on the Samsara AI Dash Cam, detecting distracted driving, harsh events, and collision risk in real time across hundreds of thousands of commercial vehicles. Projects include improving model accuracy on rare-event detection, optimizing on-device inference on embedded GPUs, and building continuous-evaluation pipelines over a fleet-scale video dataset. Qualifications: pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, EE, or a related field graduating Dec 2026 - Dec 2027; experience training deep learning models in PyTorch or TensorFlow; coursework or research in computer vision, object detection, or edge ML. Publications at CVPR/ICCV/NeurIPS are a strong plus.
