Machine Learning Intern - Contract AI, Summer 2026

Ironclad's AI team is hiring a Machine Learning Intern for Summer 2026 to advance our contract intelligence models. You will work alongside research scientists and ML engineers on information extraction from contracts, clause classification, and retrieval-augmented generation using the latest open-weight LLMs. Responsibilities include curating labeled datasets of negotiated contracts, fine-tuning transformer models for clause and obligation extraction, evaluating hallucination rates on legal QA benchmarks, and prototyping new product features inside our Jurist assistant. You will publish an internal whitepaper and may co-author external research. Qualifications: pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, or related field; proficiency in Python and PyTorch; experience training or fine-tuning transformer models; familiarity with Hugging Face and vector databases. Prior research on NLP, legal text, or information retrieval is strongly preferred.
