ORNL Research Student Internships (RSI) - Summer 2026

The ORNL Research Student Internships (RSI) Program connects current students and recent graduates with world-class researchers across eight science directorates at Oak Ridge National Laboratory: Biology and Environment, Energy Science, Fusion and Fission, Isotopes, Physical Sciences, National Security, Neutron Science, and Supercomputing. Interns spend 10-12 weeks onsite (May 26 - July 31, 2026) working on cutting-edge research alongside DOE scientists and engineers. Stipends: $750/week (undergrad), $850/week (post-bachelor's), $950/week (graduate students), plus $250/week housing allowance and up to $1,000 travel reimbursement. Requirements: full-time enrollment with 12+ completed credit hours or recent graduate (within 2 years), 3.0+ GPA, age 18+, U.S. citizen or LPR. Application deadline: February 26, 2026.
