The BioAnalytical Sciences (BAS) Department within Development Sciences at Genentech is a world-class bioanalytical center of excellence for novel strategies, technologies, and methods that enable the development of life-changing medicines. The 2026 Summer Intern role is a 12-week, full-time (40 hours/week) paid internship with start dates in May/June 2026, based in South San Francisco, California. BAS has several groups working on preclinical and clinical programs developing bioanalytical assays with cutting-edge technologies, including ligand-binding assays that specifically measure protein drug molecules out of the thousands of different molecules present in blood. Other project types include developing highly selective plug-and-play immunoaffinity enrichment, liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (IA LC-MS/MS) pharmacokinetic assays for antibody-based biotherapeutic molecules using high-throughput automation, and investigating the mechanism of action of biotherapeutics through cell-based assays such as cellular internalization and processing, high content imaging, and real-time cell growth/survival monitoring. Required majors: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields. Pay range: $26.00-$46.00/hour.
