Fall 2026 SEC Scholars Legal Program - HQ (1L, 2L, 3L, or LL.M.) (Volunteer)
Overview
The SEC Scholars Legal Program targets currently enrolled JD and LL.M. students for a fall 2026 internship at SEC headquarters in Washington, DC. Over a minimum ten-week program, legal scholars work with SEC attorneys on substantive matters in divisions such as Enforcement, Corporation Finance, Trading and Markets, Investment Management, and the Office of the General Counsel. Assignments may include legal research, drafting memoranda, reviewing filings, and supporting investigations or rulemaking. Scholars also attend seminars and roundtables on the federal securities laws and participate in a structured mentoring program. Anticipated start dates are August 24, 2026 and September 8, 2026; minimum commitment is 16 hours per week. The SEC Scholars Program is currently unpaid; academic credit is typically available.
